Topper Martyn

1923–2004

Artist, juggler

Victor Clifton Martyn, known as Topper Martyn, was born in England and was a juggler and illusionist. In the 1960s, Martyn settled in Uppsala with his wife.

Topper Martyn made his stage debut in 1938 as a juggler and had a mixed program with elements of juggling, comedy and magic. Martyn received several awards for his artistry. In 1970 he became the world champion of comical magic in Amsterdam.

In 1996, Martyn was honored with the English Carlton Comedy Prize. He has received the French award Mandrake d'or and a gold medal by Asahi Television (Japan).

In addition to performing in 30 different countries, he played the wizard's role in the children's musical Alfons and the Wizard, based on Gunilla Bergström's book Hokus Pokus Alfons Åberg. Topper Martyn also appeared in TV productions, such as SVT's Christmas calendar from 1984 – Julstrul with Staffan & Bengt.

Jan "Moltas" Erikson

1932–1988.

Psychiatrist, Radio and Television entertainer

Jan "Moltas" Erikson was born in Uppsala and got his nickname in the Uppsala Cathedral Boys Choir.

He was particularly well known for his participation in Hasse Alfredson's and Tage Danielsson's Mosebacke monarchy and In a minute. Erikson also made some minor roles on film.

He also worked as a psychiatrist at Ulleråker Hospital in Uppsala. Erikson was also a summer host on Radio on several occasions.

"Moltas" Erikson is buried together with his parents, who had the sewing shop Sybehörsaffären Hultman Eftr. at Svartbäcksgatan.

Ulla-Bella Fridh

1929–1993.

Actor.

Ulla-Bella Fridh, whose full name was Anna Ulla-Britt Fridh-Gabrielsson, debuted in 1947 as Ice Princess in Gustav Wally's ice cabaret. She also played at the student theatre at the Södermanland-Nerikes Nation and attended theatre school at the Gothenburg City Theatre from 1949 to 1952.

Together with Owe Törnqvist and Rune Ek she participated in Sommarrevyer and worked at the Vasa Theatre in Stockholm with Karl-Gerhard 1952 – 1954.

She also starred in several television programmes and films, and was employed at Uppsala Stadsteater from 1964 to 1980.
